You’re allowed to work up to 20 hours per week, but only during semester breaks or holidays that are longer than seven days. To do this legally, you’ll need to get approval from the Immigration Department through your university. Jobs you’re allowed to take include roles in cafés and restaurants as waiter, hotels , mini-marts or petrol stations, and on-campus roles like tutoring, research assistance, or library support.
However, you’re not allowed to work full-time, take permanent jobs, or do freelance or remote work, and you can’t work during the academic semester unless you’ve been given special permission
